Replace Floor In Metal Shed
Sheds that include wood floors as part of their design and not as an add-on option typically require the floor to be built first as a foundation, with the shed being built on top of this.. I've used floor jacks sitting on plywood scraps before to level a shed. you should be able to do it no problem. just go a little at a time, shim each corner up 2" at a time, then once you have enough space, replace the shims with a block, then shim each corner until it's about level.. The shed floor in our backyard has a rotten floor from a water breech over the past few years and was falling apart. i used scrap materials from previous projects to fix the floor and made it good.
Can't simply buy a replacement floor. my diy skills are not good and i'm stumped. how to replace the rotten floor of a wooden shed (only the end 1/5 is rotten). i think that cutting out the rotten wood and adding good wood to the existing good wood may be the answer but i'm probably talking shit.. This floor extends beyond the walls of the metal shed so when it rains the water will run down the sides of the shed, onto the floor and back into the shed in the gap between the floor and the walls. and it is virtually impossible to seal this gap. the metal or plastic siding should hang over the edge of the floor an inch or so.. Any type of shed, whether it is made from wood, metal or a combination of wood and metal sheets, will eventually leak as weathering occurs over time. although proper installation methods will help.
